The first one, 'ugh', didn't really turn out well because a) it was the end of a bottle and just splatted everywhere and b) the pattern on the plate sort of distracts from it. So for my second attempt I chose to use a less patterned plate and a new bottle of ketchup. It came out a little better but ketchup is still really hard to control! I kind of like the effect. It's kind of like a play on ceramic design and playing with your food. It's also a very every day, iconic kind of material.
